“I enjoy studying a scene to see what is constant and what is changing (light, water, wind, people). I then capture that feeling in a photograph so the viewer gets a sense of what it was like to be present in that moment. My interests vary between fine art urban and rural landscapes, botanical, macro, and infrared photography.”

Julie Lee is a Central Florida part-time professional photographer. What started as organizing a group of friends for photo excursions led to joining the Orlando Camera Club and organizing field trips.

Julie has a broad knowledge of photographic styles from wide-angle landscapes and cityscapes to nature, abstract, portraiture and families. Always up for a challenge, macro and infrared photography are of particular interest as they involve unique ways of seeing a subject. As opposed to taking pictures OF a subject, she strives to capture thoughtful images that are ABOUT the subject while conveying what it felt like to be present at that moment via the use of creative techniques.

Julie served as Orlando Camera Club’s 13th President and spent five years leading field trips for OCC.

Julie has embraced the Fuji X mirrorless system for its quality and lighter weight. She feels that the ability to shoot from early morning until sunset and beyond is important for a busy photographer without the distraction of being weighed down by heavy gear. While a camera is only "the pencil to the poetry", it certainly is nice to have a fine and reliable "pencil!"
